El teatro-cine San Vicente pertenece al siglo XlX o comienzos del XX y su estilo es neomudéjar.

Llamado así por pertenecer a la cofradía de San Vicente y posteriormente adquirido por Don Ezequiel Navarro, alcalde de esta villa en 1976, pasó más tarde a propiedad municipal.

Está catalogado como edificio de valor histórico artístico categoría 1 grado 2 por ser el único teatro neomudéjar de Extremadura.

El suelo es de madera. Tiene planta rectangular, con escenario al fondo y cubierta adintelada. Tiene capacidad para acoger a 375 personas aproximadamente. Está situado en la Villa de la Cultura ya que a solo unos cuantos metros podemos encontrar también la biblioteca municipal y el colegio.

En los años 2006 y 2011 sufrió restauraciones sin modificar la traza primitiva del inmueble. Como dato curioso, hay que añadir que durante su restauración se encontró en el frontón una pintura de Lope de Vega, pintada por un pintor local.  

En él se viene celebrando desde los años 80 las actuaciones de comparsas y chirigotas en carnavales, además de proyecciones audiovisuales, obras de teatro, conferencias y jornadas entre otras actividades.

This theatre was built at the end of the nineteenth century or at the beginning of the twentieth century and its style is neomudejar.

This monument belonged to the brotherhood of San Vicente, hence its name, and it was later acquired by Ezequiel Navarro, mayor of this town in 1976. It was then when it passed to municipal property.

It is catalogued as a building of historic-artistic value, category 1, rank 2, for being the only neomudejar theatre in Extremadura.

It consists of a seating area, an upstairs seating area and a stage and it has a seating capacity of 375 people approximately. It is located in “Villa de la Cultura”, an area of the town where we can also find the library and the local school only a few metres away.

Several restorations were carried out in the building from 2006 to 2011 without modifying the original layout. During these works, a painting of Lope de Vega was found. The author is a local painter and it had remained hidden until then.

The theatre is used to hold Carnival performances since the 80s and you can also enjoy audiovisual screenings, theatre plays, children’s games, conferences or workshops among other activities there.
